There will be questions in several categories such as general knowledge and there will also be a general Afro-Caribbean theme to it. If you would like to take part, the event will take part on the Tuesday 6th October @ Revolution Cardiff.  There will also be time to meet your other freshers and make new friends! The event will start at 5:30PM and run until 9:00 PM.

ACS x AFROJAM Virtual Dance Class

In partnership with Afrojam, and as an Afro Caribbean society we know the value of dance in all of our cultures. Africa and the Caribbean have been the source of some of the most energetic and unique music as well as dances. Come and share in the celebration of our cultures and to simply have fun. There is no specific skill level required for this class. The class shall take place on the 9th of October (time to be confirmed) and the link will be sent before the event.

HSBC Virtual Careers Event

Courtesy of HSBC, we will be having a virtual careers event. We will be talking about entrepreneurship and how to build a personal brand that reflects your talents, skills and your goals. You will have the opportunity to ask questions about how to build your CV, how to present yourself as a good candidate for the job etc. The event will take place on the 14th October (16:00- 18:00PM) and the link will be sent out before the event.

ACS x ACMA Me and My Mind

It is no surprise that as black people in Cardiff we are a minority. This is why ACMA will be co-hosting this event to help us talk about the issues that affect the community and to find a way to be able to deal with them. In the previous year we discussed the topic of mental health in the black community, the unique causes of certain mental health issues and also how to manage them. The event will be happening on the 16th of October (18:00-19:30PM). Our special guest for this event will be woke weekly.

ACS COOKOUT

Come through for a night of amazing Afro-Caribbean food ranging from Jollof to Chicken and much more. Freshers can meet new friends from many different places and from different classes. The event will take place on the 24th of October at Y Plas Cardiff  (6:00 PM). This is one of the main events we will have to mark Black History Month.
